Objective
Design the conference materials for a hypothetical or actual design conference. You will research the type of design conference and create stunning and eye-catching programs for it. Any information used in this project needs to come from the real design conference, not be made up, unless you choose to design from a hypothetical conference. You are to find the theme of the conference that year and use it to help communicate the re-design. The project will include a Poster, Promotional Postcard, Website, Program, Conference Zoom Background, and Mobile App.
Concept
For this assignment, I chose the Smashing Conference, which is a UX/UI conference that takes place in many different cities around the USA. This conference did not actually have its own theme, as some design conferences do; therefore, I had to create my own theme. After looking through the conference description and reading what the speakers would be talking about, I noticed that this year’s conference goal was to penetrate the minds of the creators, instead of focusing on the coding itself. With this information, I conceived the theme of going behind the screen.
