Deliverable
Coffee Table Book

Objective

Design a coffee table book that can be displayed in such a way for people that it will attract someone’s attention: The book is Evolution: A Visual Record by Robert Clark, with Joseph Wallace and David Quammen. You are to take your images and words from the existing book and re-design it to achieve a more desirable outcome. The book is designed to be eye-catching and should make the reader want to continue flipping through the pages to see what else is to be found.

Concept
The book contains images from the award-winning photographer Robert Clark that are truly breathtaking. For this reason, I wanted the images to be a part of the process of telling the story that is taking place inside the book. I pushed for the design background to be white, allowing the bright colors of the animals and insects to burst to life. I also took time arranged the placement of words to appear as if they were following the images throughout the book, in order to make the contents more visually engaging for the reader.
